Help Kelly Jae’s Lakeside stand out in downtown Syracuse
Kelly Jae’s Lakeside is calling all artists. We have a large blank canvas that needs inspiration. We are in search of someone to design a mural for our exterior wall and to bring it to life. A great design would incorporate our funky diamond windows, celebrate locally sourced food, and be social media worthy.
We are searching for something unique (while we love the angel wing designs we’ve seen, we want something uniquely ours) where our guests and visitors can stop for a photo op.
We will be accepting concepts from artists until Feb. 1 and will reveal the designs we love on or around Valentine’s Day (fitting, right?). The artist with the winning design will receive a $1,800 prize.

Project requirements and details
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older by Feb. 1, 2021 to enter.
Entries should take the form of a 2-D mural that covers the entire wall surface, which is 34’2″ wide, 13’5″ tall on the left and 11’5″ tall on the right. The mural should celebrate the locally sourced and high quality food that Chef Kelly Graff is known for, while also incorporating a “lakeside” theme. The mural should be interactive in some way to encourage visitors to pose for a photo op. The iconic diamond windows on the building should be incorporated into the design.
The prize for the contest is $1,800 cash, which includes material, labor, equipment and prize money. Half of the money will be paid prior to commencement of the work and the final payment will be upon completion of the mural.
Kelly Jae’s Lakeside will prep the wall, add an anti-graffiti and UV protection coating and maintain the mural.
